If you only need to convert the file into a video without specific timings or narration, you can follow the instructions below.

  1. Create your slides, including the transitions, narrations, and other essential details.
  2. Click the File tab, select Save. This step is crucial to ensure all the changes you have made are saved in PPTX format.
  3. Click the File tab, select Export. You will see some options; Create a PDF, Create a Video, Package Presentation for CD, Handouts, or Change the File Type. Select Create a Video.
  4. After you select Create a Video. You will have some options related to the quality of the video, timings, and narrations. On the first drop-down box, you can choose the resolution of the result.

NOTE: Remember that the higher the video quality, the longer the time needed to convert the PowerPoint into a video. The video size resulted will also be larger.

  1. On the second drop-down box, you will see options about timings and narration. By default, the setting is ‘Don’t Use Recorded Timings and Narrations.’ Do not change this setting for now.
  2. Check the third drop-down box.  It shows how long each slide will play on your video. Set the duration according to your need.
  3. Select Create Video.
  4. After clicking Create Video, there will be a pop-up window. Type the file name on the box and choose the destination folder.
  5. Below the File Name box, you will see a drop-down box. You can choose to save your video in MPEG-4 Video or Windows Media Video (WMV).
  6. Click Save.

Now you can find the finished video in the folder that you have chosen previously.

Creating A Video with Timings and Narrations

Sometimes you may need to include your voice while explaining the content of the slides. Then, you need to create a video with specific timings and narrations. You do not need an additional PPT to video converter app.

By following the instructions below, you can choose how long a slide play. One slide can play longer or shorter than the other. Here is how you do it.

  1. Do steps 1 to 4, the same as when you want to convert PowerPoint to video without timings and narrations.
  2. On the second drop-down box, you will see options about timings and narration. If you want to record a video with custom timings and narrations, choose Record Timings and Narrations.
  3. Select what you want to record. You can include the slide and animation timings, narrations, ink, and laser pointer.
  4. Now you can talk and record your voice. Whenever your cursor points to a text or image, it will be recorded too.
  5. After recording the timings and narrations, click Create Video.
  6. There will be a pop-up window. Type the file name on the box and choose the destination folder.

  1. Create your slides, including the transitions, narrations, and the other details,
  2. Click the File tab, select Save. This step is crucial to ensure all the changes you have made are saved in PPT format.
  3. Click the File tab again, select Save As.
  4. Choose the folder where you want to save the pictures.
  5. On the pop-up window, type the file name. On the second drop-down box (save as type), choose JPEG File Interchange Format.
  6. A pop-up window will appear, and you should choose All Slides.
  7. Now check the destination folder of the files.
  8. Open your Windows Movie Maker.
  9. Import all the converted JPEG files.
  10. Add transitions and audio if you need them.
  11. Export the project into a video.

NOTE: Since you export the video as images, the PowerPoint animations and transitions will not come on the Movie Maker. That is why you should add them manually. You can also add animation from various sources to complete your presentation.,
